Film Archive: Classical Concerts June 2020

The Classical Concerts series online for RevoLuton Arts during June featured a variety of music from some the UK’s best musicians. Singers, flutes, instrumentalists from the Eastern Classical tradition, piano, and violin.

We hope that you enjoyed them as much as we did

Thank you RevoLuton Arts for hosting these Sinfonia Digital Concerts.

In case you missed any, we have uploaded them below.

Friday 26 June 2.30pm

Helen Charlston and Michael Craddock (vocals/piano - both of them) took us through the music for the stage by 18th Century composer Handel. Thank you to all who joined to watch.

Friday 19 June, 2.30pm
Julian Sperry and Yves Bouvy (flutes)

Between them, these two flautists have racked up numerous awards and international appearances, a vast catalogue of recordings and broadcasts, film music for the Harry Potter films (among many others), and regular feature performances with stars including Dame Shirley Bassey and Michael Ball.

Friday 12 June, 2.30pm
Balu Raguraman (Indian violin) and Subathra Raguraman (Veena)

These instruments are not known especially in western classical orchestral tradition but Sinfonia Verdi has a tradition of fusing diverse musical traditions and we were delighted to showcase some music for you from the eastern musical tradition.

Friday 5 June, 2.30pm
Shirley Richards (violin) and Peter Richards (piano)

These two musicians have established and distinguished careers performing at the very top of the orchestral profession. They can’t wait to get back on to the concert stage again but, in the meantime, we were lucky to have them present a short Classical Concert for us from their home.
